This house and property is located in the Rye Beat Section-23; Township-11S; Range-15W off State Highway 17 (then called Cotton Gin Road). House is still standing.

In July 1899 Henry S. Rye took sick with typhoid fever and passed away. This left Cathrine Harris Rye and her children to make it on their own. The oldest son William Henry Rye, took over with the farming and his sisters did what they could to help.
