Mrs. Margery Smeltz died of pneumonia Monday morning at the home of Mack Moore. Burial was made on Wednesday morning at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, funeral services being conducted in Mt. Pleasant Church by Rev. Martin.
The deceased was born December 24, 1846, in Union Twp., her maiden name being Fawcett. On March 6, 1867, she was married to Hugh McCort, three children being born to this union, W. H. McCort of Uhrichsville, Mrs. Joseph Booth and Mrs. John Shotwell of near Carrollton. In February, 1878, she was married to Peter Smeltz, three children being born to them, Ross A. Smeltz, James Smeltz and Mrs. Mack Moore. In addition to the six Children named above, Mrs. Smeltz is
survived by ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren In her youth she united with the Methodist Protestant church of Mt. Pleasant and retained her
membership all her life.
