Joan Darlene Lamb received her wings on March 9, 2021. She passed at home, her two beloved children with her, on her terms.

Joan was born at home on September 30, 1943 to "Fred" & Lily West in Seneca, Illinois. She was the baby of six children and the only girl… so from the very start it was TA-DA! She graduated from Seneca High School & lived most all of her life in her hometown of Seneca. She was a proud, doting mother to Jeriann and Jeffrey, born to her and John Lamb. A bouncing baby grandson: Kohl Benning Lamb, entered her world and instantly became the apple of her eye.

Joan intensely loved her family and friends along with fashion, looking her best, giving her time and gifts, babies, holidays, travel, beaches, good eats (particularly sweets), music, entertainment, shopping, sunshine, flowers, yardwork and anything that involved laughter and fun. She could be spotted zipping around in her Mazda (zoom zoom) or her shiny red convertible. She was the #1 fan of her ultra-talented, motorhead son at any drag strip or pulling track, near or far. She fiercely loved and that was that.

Joan was always on the move and simply couldn't do enough to satisfy her own standard of living. She had many good friends that likely were worn out after adventures with her. She enjoyed her OSF work family at Dr, Georgiev's office in Marseilles, where patients adored her and to whom she treated like family. She humbly received the 2017 OSF Sunflower Award for exceptional service, going above and beyond her duties. She recently served on the board of directors of the Illinois River Area Chamber of Commerce in Marseilles.

Joan is survived by her children: Jeriann of Ottawa and Jeffrey John (Terri Helland) of Seneca; her grandson: Kohl of Ottawa; her brothers: Bill (Virgie) West of California and John (Doris) West of Seneca; sister-in-law: Beverly Dumbauld of Morris; many nieces & nephews along with their children & grandchildren; and her granddogs: Isla & Kenda.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Robert Eugene Dumbauld, Charles Aaron West, and Louis Franklin West; two nephews: Danny and Todd West; her feline friend: Felix; and granddogs: CoCo, Shelby and Bubba.

Services for Joan will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held in the upcoming months, as it will take that long to plan one worthy of her.

Memorials may be directed to the family for a legacy of Joan, that is yet to be decided on.

The world has lost a good one. Gone but never forgotten. Smile and enjoy your journey to the fullest possible extreme, just like Joan did.
