Jean Young entered into eternal death on February 16, 2021.
She was born on March 27, 1937 to Oscar and Evelyn Rose in Morristown, New Jersey. Jean received her formal education at Morristown High School where she graduated in 1956. She worked at Bendix in Teaneck New Jersey where she met and married David R. Young on May 31, 1974.
Jean and Dave resided in East Orange New Jersey until they retired and moved to Newport News Virginia. Jean became a faithful member of the New Beech Grove Baptist Church and volunteered at the Mature Adults Ministry and the NBG Food Bank.
Survived by her husband David R. Young; brother Donald Rose; sister in law Patricia Rose; niece Toni Rose; Rev. Dr. Evan D and Donna Young; grandsons, Corneil (Candace), Ian (Joanna), Sean (Esther) and Joaquin; along with a host of great grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held March 4, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home, Denbigh Chapel, 251 Richneck RD., Newport News VA 23608. Due to COvid-19 limitations this will be a family-only service, however all those who wish to participate via livestream may view the service on the Carter Funeral Home, Denbigh Chapel Facebook page. Interment at A. G. Horton Memorial Veteran's Cemetery, Suffolk VA
