NNancy Shelton Slay, 88, of Columbia, SC, and formerly of Sylacauga, AL, died Friday, March 5, 2021. Born July 16, 1932, in White House, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Shelton and Norene Dudley Shelton Weist. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Willard Slay; daughter, Cynthia Ellen Slay; sister, Wanda Yoquelet and grandson, Guy Slay. Mrs. Slay loved the Lord and was a member of First Church of God in Columbia, as well as the First Church of God in Sylacauga. She was involved in various church activities, including, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. Mrs. Slay enjoyed spending time outside, working diligently in her many flower gardens. She was also an avid reader, loved to play scrabble, and put puzzles together. Mrs. Slay was die hard Alabama Crimson Tide sports fan. Roll Tide!
