Catherine Elizabeth (McShea) Pancoast, 84, a longtime resident of Springfield, died May 24, 1989 at Metropolitan Hospital, Springfield. Born in Lattimer, PA, Mrs Pancoast lived in Springfield for the last 65 years. She was a homemaker. She was the daughter of Roger Aloysius McShea and Jeanette "Nettie" (Beach) McShea.

Mrs Pancoast was a member of St. Kevin’s Roman Catholic Church and a former member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Springfield. She was a graduate of Hallahan High School in Philadelphia. She is survived by her husband, S. Franklin Pancoast Sr; a son S. Franklin Jr, 3 daughters, Jeanette Kern, Louise Panczner and Helen Little; two brothers, Bishop Joseph M McShea, retired bishop of the Diocese of Allentown, and Harry J McShea; a sister, Florence Hyson, 28 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

A mass of Christian Burial was said May 27 at St. Kevin’s Church in Springfield. Internment was in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple.
