With his wife, the family took advantage of the Homestead program offered by the Canadian Government, getting permission to enter NW-01-24-03-E1 [near 51.049047, -97.055847] on April 8, 1915. On August 5, 1922, he was also granted entry to the parcel at NW-02-24-03-E1 [near 51.049074, -97.079205].
Together, they had 12 children (6 boys, 6 girls).
