Dorothy A. “Jingles” Perry, age 90, passed away on September 1, 2013 at Settlers House in LaPorte, IN.

Born August 2, 1923, she was the daughter of Cecil and Thelma Stinson.

Dorothy served her country during WWII and was discharged in 1943 with a rank of Yeoman Second Class.

Following her training at Gary Business College, Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for among others, Lovegrove Accounting Services, and George S. Olive and Company.

Dorothy devoted her years following her retirement to being an amateur clown. She was active in Funny Bones Clown Alley and Center Ring Clowns. Dorothy participated for many years in Hebron Fourth of July parade.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and sons, Norman and Leonard Perry.

Survivors include her twin brother, Donald Stinson; 2 daughters, Kathi Sherron and Sandra (Owen) Decker; son, Milton (Lori) Perry; 4 granddaughters: Lissa Sherron, Tracy Kubiak Fernandez, Tina (Derek) Sandberg and Angela (Jason) Salyers; 3 grandsons: John Sherron, Scot (Ana) Kubiak and Zachary (Lynn) Perry; 8 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Geisen Funeral & Cremation Services, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN 46410 from 1:00 PM until the time of services at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to your local food pantry or favorite charity.
