Cpl. Shoaf was the son of Mrs. George M. Marshall and step-son of George M. Marshall, formerly of Mulberry. Shoaf, a Marine corporal, en route home to be married, was among 48 persons killed in the mid-air crash of two military planes over suburban Norwalk, Calif., February 1. He was to have been married to Miss Josephine Cook of Lafayette at Central Presbyterian church on Sunday.
Other survivors are Mrs. Arthur Charlesworth of West Lafayette, a sister, and Glen Marshall, Lafayette route 5, a half-brother.
