SMITHSON - At the Almonte General Hospital on Sunday, April 14th, 1968. Jessie Ethel Armstrong, beloved wife of the late William Craig Smithson and dear mother of Gregory of Almonte in her 73rd year. Rested at the Comba Funeral Home, Church Street, Almonte, where service was held on Tuesday, April 16th, at 2 p.m. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery.

Mrs Jessie Smithson
The death of Mrs Jessie Smithson, widow of the late William Craig Smithson, occurred at the Almonte General Hospital on Sunday, April 14th, following a lengthy illness. She was in her 73rd year. Mrs Smithson was one of five children of the late William Armstrong and his wife, Eliza Ann McCann. She was born, educated and lived on the 10th line of Ramsay until October, 1967, when she was forced by ill health to move to an apartment in Almonte. She was a member of the Almonte United Church and the Senior Citizens Club. Mr Smithson died twelve years ago. She is survived by one son, Gregory of Almonte. The funeral was held Tuesday, April 16th, from the Comba Funeral Home to the Auld Kirk Cemetery, with Rev R.F. Skoutajan conducting the services. The pallbearers were Messrs William Hanson, Orville Peever, Stan Sonnenbrg, Ted Sonnenburg, Peer Larson and Chris Smithson.
