Evelyn enjoyed singing in the choir and pretty much anywhere. She had a beautiful voice and could hit the highest notes. She loved gospel music, The Gaither Gospel Group, Perry Como, and Elvis Presley (You’ll Never Walk Alone). She was a member of the McDowell Baptist Church where she loved her church family. Not only was Evelyn a sweet soul she also had a sweet tooth and had a fondness for banana pudding. She loved crocheting and gardening. She has made many booties and blankets for friends and grandchildren over the years.
Evelyn is preceeded in death by the love of her life, John W. Burnett, Sr.; daughter Ruth Jane Burnett; son David Burnett; son-in-law Billy Masters; grandson John Bement; grandson Steve Burnett, Jr.; sisters Annette and Quenette; and her parents.
Graveside services will be held at Zion Baptist Church, Suches, GA.
