Willard Bader, 86, of Palmer died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.

Mr. Bader was born Nov. 3, 1920 in Merrick County near Palmer to John L. and Elizabeth (Lautenschlager) Bader.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret.

Survivors of the immediate family include a twin brother and his wife, Wilmer and Dorothy Bader of Palmer; and a sister-in-law, Irwina Bader of St. Paul.

He grew up and attended country school District 45. He entered the U.S. Navy and served from 1945-46.

On March 27, 1949 he married Margaret Lockard in Osceola. They farmed near Palmer and raised sheep and cattle. In 2002 they moved into Maplewood Apartments in Palmer.

His wife, Margaret, died Jan. 8, 2003. In 2006 he moved to the Heritage Living Center in St. Paul where he lived until his death.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the American Legion Club and the Farmers Union, all of Palmer. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and sharing his produce with friends.

He was also preceded in death by five brothers: John Bader, Henry Bader, Albert Bader: Carl Bader and George Bader; and two sisters, Lilly Bosselman and Tilly Bader.
