Elizabeth Ann Bentele Lowe, 89, of Clinton, MO, passed away Monday, February 1, 2021, at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City MO.
Elizabeth was born on March 8, 1931 on a farm between Cox Town and Excello, Macon County MO. The third child of Albert and Dorothy Viola (Modglin) Bentele.
On September 15, 1950, in Macon, MO Liz was united in marriage to John Ralph Lowe (Jack). Soon after their wedding, Jack was enlisted into the Air Force and they moved to Mississippi. After Jack’s discharge they moved to Kansas City, MO. Liz soon started working as a secretary, first at the Commerce Trust Bank in Kansas City, then as a secretary at the Muehlebach and Schlitz Brewing Company. In 1972 she started working as an administrative assistant at Pfizer, Inc., in Lee’s Summit, MO, until she retired in 1993.
Liz will be forever remembered by her surviving husband, John R. Lowe (Jack), their son Aubrey Lane Lowe and her one and only granddaughter Karen Elizabeth Lowe, (Karen said she likes to recall something her grandmother always liked to tell her, all the time, and now she will deeply miss her saying it to her, for all time, "Karen, you are truly blessed kiddo"!
Also are two surviving brothers, Raymond Bentele and wife Debbie, Leo Bentele; two sisters, Mildred Bentele Chambers and Carolyn Sue Bentele Snidow and husband Jerry; brother-in-law, Larry Lowe and wife Ann; sisters-in-laws, Mary Louise Bentele, Donna Bentele, Anna Marie Bentele, Eunice Lowe Durden and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents, her son Scott Lowe, three brothers and one sister: Kenneth Bentele, Norbert Bentele, Ronald Bentele, Reta Bentele Cupp; two sisters-in-law; Mary Edith Cox Bentele, Aletha Kay Landes Bentele; two brothers-in-law; James Chambers and Bill Cupp.
Liz approached everything with opinion, determination, and passion, especially when it came to her husband, family and friends. One activity that she relished was being the family historian to which she was devoted.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 12:30-1:30 at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, Missouri. Inurnment will follow at 2:00 pm at the St. Mary's Cemetery south of Macon.
