Charles was born to Florida Christine Rich, and was later adopted by Eugene and the late Shirley Mullins. He was educated in the Birmingham City Schools, and graduated from West End High School in 1997. He was a 2001 Graduate of Miles College, where he was President of the Communications Club, and served as SGA Vice-President. He was a 2007 graduate of Miles Law School.



Charles worked many years as a production assistant at WBMA ABC 33/40, and met many friends and extended family members while employed there. He later served as the Corporate Compliance Officer for Franklin Primary Health Care Center in Mobile, AL. He also worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters in both Mobile, AL and Gadsden, AL. He was also the owner of C.E.M. Property Holdings in Birmingham AL. Charles was the founder of the Gulf Coast Association of Black Journalists (GCABJ) based in Mobile, AL.



Charles gave his life to Christ as a young child. He answered God’s calling into the ministry, and served as Youth Pastor of Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church in Birmingham AL under the mentorship of Rev. Dwight Peterson. In 2009, Charles was ordained at Truelight Missionary Baptist Church in Mobile AL by Rev. Michael Howard. Charles had a heart for mentoring young people and foster children, and he touched many lives through this ministry.

Charles was united in Holy Matrimony on May 26, 2007 to Tiffany Henderson. To this union, one child, Kennedy Hope, was born.

Charles departed this life on February 18, 2021. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Mullins, and grandmothers Elizabeth Barron and Gertrude Mullins.


He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dr. Tiffany Henderson Mullins; his daughter, Kennedy Hope Mullins; his father, Eugene Mullins of Birmingham, AL; an aunt, Thelma Gunn of Columbus, GA; mother and father in-law, Sylvester and Brenda Henderson of Brookhaven, MS; brother-in- law, Derrick M. Henderson of Birmingham, AL, god-parents, Fred and Christine Callen of Birmingham, AL; and a host of other family members and friends.
