She was first married March 2, 1865, in Fulton County, Illinois, to James Francis Curtis (1834-1893). They had at least three known children together. 1. Henry Attwood Curtis (1869-1949), 2. Mary Goldie Curtis (1872-1903) and 3. William Elmer Curtis (1877-1960).
After the death of her first husband Margaret was re-married on July 15, 1895, to Thomas Foster Lowman. She was recorded on the 1900 census of Woodburn, Clarke County, Iowa, as his wife and as having been married to him for 5 years. This 1900 census record also indicated that she had given birth to 3 children and all 3 were alive at that time (Her children with James Francis Curtis). She was recorded tho as "Mary" E. Lowman - rather than Margaret.
She was also recorded on the 1905 Iowa State census of Clarke County, Iowa, as "Margaret E. Lowman", age 55, born in Kentucky.
Her 2nd husband was recorded on the 1910 census of Scottsbluff, Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska, as a "Widower". So it is assumed she died between 1905 and 1910 in either Clarke County, Iowa, or in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
