Funeral services celebrating the life of Russell Turrentine will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria with Reverend John Hebert, and Reverend Stuart Sasser officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville.
The family requests that visitation be observed at the funeral home Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers will be Wes Turrentine, Lindsay Turrentine, Will Turrentine, Clint Turrentine, Glenn Younger, and Bill McIntyre.
Honorary pallbearer will be Russ Turrentine.
Mr. Turrentine, 93, of Alexandria, passed from this life on Monday, February 22, 2021.
Mr. Turrentine was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, Alexandria. He, together with his wife Verna, founded Turrentine Insurance Agency. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Verna S. Turrentine; parents, William Henry and Mattie Russell Turrentine; brothers, Charles Earl Turrentine, and William Henry Turrentine, Jr., and sister, Nell Turrentine McIntyre.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Russell W. “Rusty” Turrentine and wife, Gwen; daughter, Jan Turrentine; grandchildren, Russ Turrentine, Wes Turrentine and wife, Karen, and Lindsay Turrentine and wife, Sarah; great grandchildren, Will Turrentine, Clint Turrentine, Emma Turrentine, and Phoebe Turrentine, and numerous other family and friends.
