Sibyl K. (Johnson) Bardsley, 100 years of age, of Decatur, Indiana died at 2:09 A.M. on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Lutheran Life Villages in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was born on July 17, 1920 in Bay City, Michigan (Tuscola Co.) to the late Doyt C. and Gertrude (Stemen) Johnson.

She grew up in Van Wert County, Ohio. On September 27, 1940, she married Rev. Dale Bardsley, who passed away in 1995.

She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Builder’s Sunday School Class. Until her husband, Rev. Dale’s retirement she was an active minister’s wife.

Survivors include two daugthers, Joyce Ping of Beaver Creek, Ohio, Trudy (John) Christner of Wolcottville, Indiana and a son, Randall J. (Cheryl) Rider of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She had 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Phyllis Jean; her brother, Dennis C. Johnson and her sister, Kathryn J. (Johnson) Rider.

Graveside service will be held at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, Ohio. Pastor Chris Gadlage officiating. Masks are required at the cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Mark’s UMC or Crossroad Child and Family Services in Ft. Wayne.
