Roberta Loretta Moore
December 10, 1934 - February 8, 2021
Roberta Loretta (Cervantes) Moore was born on December 10, 1934 to Salvador and Amanda (Lyon) Cervantes in Bakersfield. She attended Standard Elementary, St. Francis Parish School, Garces High School, and Saint Mary's College.
Roberta married the love of her life Leonard (Don) Moore on July 12, 1958 and was married for 62 years. Don and Roberta had three children Coln, Kevin, & Kellie. She was a loving mother who always had her kids best interests at heart. The family enjoyed camping and creating memories together. She was a Girl Scouts leader and took the troop on many adventures including a trip to the Grand Canyon.
Mom devoted her life to God, family, and friends. She was very involved in her church Christ the King. She was a member of the Parish Council, active in the Ladies Guild, worked at the church bazaars for years, sang in the church choir, and taught 2nd grade Catechism for 14 years. She was involved in various groups within the community. She worked as a school photographer for 14 years. One of her great passions was cooking. She was an amazing cook and was always trying new recipes, reading cookbooks, and watching cooking shows. This was no surprise, as she helped her mother with her catering business. After Don retired from the railroad they enjoyed traveling, cruising with lifelong friends, visiting their son Coln in Virginia, and camping at Pismo Coast Village. She loved her friends dearly, shopping, and playing bunco.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Don Moore who recently passed, her parents, sister Wilma, and grandson Dustin Moore. She is survived by her son Coln Moore, son Kevin Moore, and daughter Kellie (John) Reece. Grandchildren Nicole Moore, Lacey (Michael) Diaz, Lexie (Philip) Barreneche, Brock (Taylor) Reece and 11 great grandchildren. She was the best Wife, Mom, Grandy, Great Grandma, and friend. Mom will be missed by so many but we find peace knowing she has been reunited in heaven with her husband, family, and friends.
Rosary will be held Monday February 22, 2021 at Greenlawn Chapel, Northeast at 6:30pm and Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday February 23, 2021 at Christ the King Church at 10:00am.
