Donald E. Hoover, 46, of 213 W. Union St., Rockton, died Sunday in the Veteran's Administration Hospital.
A Rockton resident for the past 20 years, he was born Oct. 11, 1926, in Normal, Ill., the son of Ralph and Hilda Irene Myers Hoover. He was married to Elsie Manning Oct. 7, 1951 in Chenoa, Ill.
Mr. Hoover was an electrical engineer at Sunstrand Co., Rockford. He was a World War II Army veteran, a graduate of Iowa State University and a member of the American Legion, Walter Graham Post of Rockton.
Surviving are his wife; two brothers, Gilbert of Bloomington, Ill. and Wilbur of Delaven, Illnois; one sister, Mrs. Yvonne Wilson of Washington, Ill.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Blackhawk Chapel with the Rev. Richard Boyer officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. tonight in the funeral home. The family suggests that friends who wish may contribute memorials to the American Cancer Society.
