Frances Bolling was the only child and heir of parents Captain Drury Bolling and Elizabeth Meriwether and granddaughter of Col Robert Bolling 1646-1709 and his 2nd wife Anne Stith.
Her maternal grandparents were Francis Meriwether 1670-1712/1) and Mary Bathurst 1675-1738.
Frances married Theodorick Bland in 1740 and they lived at the Bland plantation Cawsons, located where the Appomattox River meets the James River. 
The Kippax Plantation belonging to her husband's parents eventually was inherited by her son, Theodorick Jr.

Will of Theodorick Bland. Amelia Co., VA, WB 3, pp. 289-291, left a will on 16 Jul 1783, proved 28 Oct 1784
Frances Bolling Bland’s birthdate. On 16 June 1741, Theodorick Bland gave a bond of £400 to Francis Smith with the condition that Theodoric and his wife Frances would sell her share of “Bathurst” to Francis Smith when Frances reached the age of 21. On 21 and 22 February 1743/4, deeds and releases were signed by Theodoric and Frances selling the land to Francis Smith. This indicates that Frances was born sometime after 16 June 1720 and before 21 Feb 1722/3. Frances’s aunt, Lucy Meriwether, sister to her mother Elizabeth Meriwether, married Francis Smith.
