LILLIE MAE KLAUS ADAMS, 86, lifelong Waller County resident, passed away June 7, 2014, at her home in Pattison.

Miss Lillie was born March 15, 1928, in Pattison, Texas. The daughter of Henry H. and Lena Neiman Klaus, she grew up and attended school in Pattison.

After high school, Miss Lillie went to work as a meat wrapper at Weingarten’s Grocery Store in Houston. Years later, she reconnected with an elementary school classmate, Wayne Adams, when her brother set her up on a blind date to go dancing. She married the love of her life, Wayne, on August 24, 1968, in Houston. After they married, she left Weingarten’s and then went to work with her husband in his bicycle shop, and later stayed home taking care of the family home place.

Miss Lillie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Pattison. She loved the outdoors. She enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with Wayne, raising cattle, gardening, canning her vegetables and she loved red birds.

Miss Lillie is survived by her NIECE: Connie Folmer and her husband, Ray, of Pattison; STEP CHILDREN: Janet Henson and her husband, Randy, of Katy, Beverly Salinas and her husband, Gilbert, of Houston, Ronnie Adams and his wife, Debra, also of Houston, Carl Adams of Pattison and Linda Petter and her husband, Larry, of Columbus; NIECES: Tonya Galla and her husband, Brad, of Pattison and Regina Gilmore and her husband, Allen, of Wichita Falls; and NEPHEW: Howard Klaus of Pattison. She is also survived by numerous GRANDCHILDREN; GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; GREAT NIECES; GREAT NEPHEWS; other relatives and dear friends. Miss Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Wayne Adams, brother, Howard Louis Klaus, and her sister, Dora Huddelston.
