Anna was the daughter of James Lewis of New Jersey.
Anna and her husband, James Bryant left New Jersey circa 1800, and moved first to Pennsylvania for a few years, then on to Ohio by 1804, where they raised their family. By 1807, she had become afflicted with dropsy and died in 1827-1828 (recollection of son E.W. Bryant).
Stone reads:
This stone (?)
erected in memory of
Anna Consort of James Bryant
who departed this life
June the 1, 182?
in the 55th year
There seems to be two headstones for Anna Bryant, both read the same information with the exception of reference to, Consort. The headstone at bottom may be the original, or may have been erected at a later time. Either way, both stones are in fine condition.
