Melinda Cummings, age 36, slipped from this world into eternity February 13, 2021, now free from chronic pain and addiction. She was born in Payson, the third child of Ila and Charles Cummings, and lived in Salem, Utah for five years, then moved to Payson, three more siblings joined her in the family.

Melinda was an energetic, loving child with a tender heart, who brought home every homeless kitten and dog she could. She attended Payson schools and graduated from Tintic High School. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Her parents divorced when she was eight years old, which was very difficult for her. When she was sixteen, her mother married Hal Jones and added his four children to the family. She enjoyed dirt bikes, ATV riding and the Payson Canyon. Most of all, she loved her family.

She worked at various auto related businesses in her early adult years and then pursued education in the home health field. She loved helping people. Unfortunately, her chronic spinal arthritis, neck injuries and addiction to alcohol prevented her from reaching her goals in that vocation.

Melinda is survived by her mother, Ila Jones, and stepfather, Hal Jones. She is also survived by siblings: Noelle (Ryan) Anderson, Adam (Emilee) Cummings, Samuel (Brita) Cummings, Joshua (Rivka) Cummings, and Michael Cummings. She is also survived by her step siblings: Tonya (Bryan) Edvalson, Gene (Jessica) Jones, David (Melodie) Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Cummings, stepsister, Jackie Jones, and nephew Magnus Cummings. We love and miss you Mel!
