Leroy C. Davis, 93, of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully on Feb. 14, 2021.
He was born on December 5, 1927 in Camden, SC. He was predeceased by his parents Della Ray and Grover C. Davis and his three brothers; Robert, Arthur, Harvey and four sisters: Leila Rhodus, Virginia Lynch, Mildred Holloman and Catherine Hume.

Leroy was a US Army veteran who served in the US Signal Corps and Army Finance Branch in 1946 and 1947. He then returned to Norfolk and resumed his employment at the Naval Supply Center and continued to help develop a data processing system and computer program for the government, In 1964 he became the Director of the Center's Programing Division. A position he held until his retirement in 1973.

He loved music and after retirement he learned to play the organ and piano and joined the "Young at Heart" Musical group at Temple of Music. He was also an active member and contributor to many other community and civic organizations.

Leroy was loved by his family and affectionately known as "Uncle Squibb". He will be missed by all of his surviving nieces and nephews. Douglas Ray Lynch (Nancy), Steven Lynch (Rae), Hester Waterfield, Kathy Schauberger, Robert Hume (Andrea), John Hume (Sharon), Gerald Davis, Jimmy Davis (Barbara). In addition to numerous great-nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff of The Villages of Rosemont for their dedication and care of Leroy over the past five years; and Dr. John Patterson and staff who professionally treated him during those years. The family would also thank the Kindred Hospice staff for their compassion and care.

A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Jack Davis, is planned for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, VA. Please sign the guest book at www.hollomon-brown.com.
