NORFOLK - Virginia D. Lynch, 86, passed away Dec. 9, 2005. She was born Dec. 20, 1918, in Camden, S.C., to Cleve and Della Davis and spent most of her life as a resident of Norfolk. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Douglas C. Lynch; and her daughter, Gloria L. Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Hester L. Waterfield of Virginia Beach; two sons, Douglas Ray Lynch and wife Nancy of Chesapeake and Steven E. Lynch and wife Rae of Virginia Beach; her brother, Leroy C. Davis of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren, Alan Jones, Scott Jones, Cheryl Hughes, Deena Lynch, Stephanie Lynch, Donna Kesler, Doug Lynch, Danny Lynch and David Lynch; and 10 great-grandchildren, all of the Hampton Roads area.
Known as "Lady" to her family and friends, she was a wonderful neighbor and friend to all who knew her and will be remembered by those who loved her as the "sunshine of her family."
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Sentara Rehabilitation Center - Virginia Beach.
A service of remembrance will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Tidewater Drive Chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
