She was born April 29, 1952 in Wolf Point, Montana. LeAnn moved to Mountain Home, Idaho at five months of age and then to Concordia, Kansas at one year. She lived on a farm in Cloud County and attended classes in a two-room schoolhouse at Hollis through the eighth grade.

LeAnn graduated from high school at Clyde, Kansas in 1970, where she was active in track, cheer leading, Kayettes, band, choir and student council. She went on to attend Cloud County Community College for two years before graduating from Kansas State University at Manhattan, Kansas in 1978.

Memberships include Trinity United Church in Concordia, Kansas and First United Methodist Church in Manhattan, Kansas.

She was Dietary Secretary at St. Joseph's Hospital in Concordia, Kansas and at Memorial Hospital in Concordia, Kansas. She then served as Temporary Food Service Director at the KSU Student Union for one year before becoming Director. She worked as a Dietitian at Prosser Memorial Hospital and has been Food Service Director for Richland School District for 24 years.

LeAnn was preceded in death by son Bryan Runyan.

Survivors include husband Edward Bridges; parents John and Joyce (Shrader) Eakins; siblings Cheryl Tira and husband Tom, Jack Eakins, Dawn Steinman and husband Albert, and Jay Eakins.
