Obituary:
Death of Mrs. Fred Smith
Mrs. Daisy Smith, wife of Fred Smith, died at ten o’clock Saturday morning at her home 910 Wall street of pneumonia after an illness of only four days.
Mrs. Smith, who was formerly Miss Daisy Ditson, grew from childhood to young womanhood in this city where she was known and loved by all. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors. Besides her husband and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Ditson, she leaves two little ones aged 2 and 4 years, also five brothers and five sisters all of this city.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the family residence, conducted by Rev. Robert Liddell, interment being made in the Galena cemetery.

Fred and Daisy were married in Galena, at the home of the bride, on June 2, 1903. The bride was the daughter of Allen Ditson and his wife, Margaret Rice Ditson. The groom was the son of Postmaster William Smith and his wife Millie Ann Taylor. After Daisy’s death, Fred remarried on May 26, 1916 to Miss Maude S Brown, from Joplin.
