Darrell Wayne Braxton Sr. "Brax", 56, was born March 18, 1964 in Mossville, Louisiana to the late Daniel Wayne and Ivella Ledoux Braxton Sr. A native of Mossville, he was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and attended Mossville High School. Darrell was employed by Pilot Travel Center in Iowa, La. He was very outgoing, always singing and happy. "Brax" was definitely a Dallas Cowboy fan. He departed this life Friday, January 29, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters, Ivella Braxton, Kassie and Kimberly Ross; stepchildren, Jermaine, Jeremi, and Shantelle Dugas; sister, Shelia Braxton; brother, Russell Braxton; twenty three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Wayne Braxton Jr.; three sisters, Sylvia Braxton, Theresa Braxton, and Edna Mae Bates; and six brothers, Levi Ledoux, Donnell Braxton, Daniel Braxton Jr., Ricky, James, and John Braxton. His visitation will be Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 9AM with his funeral following at 11AM at New Faith Baptist Church, Pastor Earl Miller, located at 4211 Opelousas Street in Lake Charles. Rev. Carl Joseph will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Mossville.
