DECK CRABTREE DEAD.
Deck Crabtree, one of the pioneers of Kansas and one of the best known men in the camp, died yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock at his home, 804 Mineral avenue, after an illness of sixteen days. He was aged 38 years. Death was due to a complication of diseases.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Christian church. Rev. W. H. South will preside at the service. The services and interment will be under the auspices of the local Eagle Aerie.
Deck Crabtree came to Kansas twenty-six years ago from Illinois, and since that time been a resident of the camp. In the early days of this camp he mined considerable, but never was fortunate to make a big "strike." The last ten years he has made his home in East Galena, familiarly known as "Peach Orchard." During the last three years he has had a restaurant on East Seventh street. He leaves a wife, son, two sisters and one brother.

The funeral of Deck Crabtree was held this afternoon. The remains were taken from the home to the Christian church, where the sermon was preached by Rev. W. H. South The services were under the auspices of the Galena Aerie of Eagles and the A. O. U. W., both lodges of which the deceased was a member. Interment was made in the Galena cemetery. A large number of friends attended the funeral.
