L. R. BULLINGTON.
Death Claims the Well-known Citizen at Last.

The death of L. R. Bullington occurred yesterday at 5:30 p m. His death had been expected for some time as he had been very low with consumption for some months past, but was never confined to his bed. He walked out in the yard yesterday and threw a rock at a cow and at once began coughing, which resulted in a hemorrhage. The family got him to the porch just as death came. Dr. Green was summoned, but arrived too late.

He was 54 years of age and has been a citizen of Galena for a number of years. The funeral was held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the M. E. church, of which he was a member, and was buried under the auspices of the Masonic order. He was also a member of the Modern Woodmen, and Patriarchs of America in which orders he carried insurance.

Death of Leroy Bullington.
L. R. Bullington
, an old and highly respected citizen of this place, died at his home on Washington avenue, between Fourth and Fifth streets, Sunday evening, April 11, at 5:30 o’clock.
Mr. Bullington came to this place in l884 and has held several positions of public trust, among which were deputy sheriff of Cherokee county and city marshal of this place, the latter position being filled by him for two or three terms.

He was a confederate soldier and served all through the war, except eighteen months that he was confined as a prisoner.

For this past two years he has been afflicted with that dreaded disease, consumption, and, while his death has been expected, it comes with no less sorrow.

He leaves a wife, Mrs. L. A. Bullington, two children, Mrs. C. C. Moore and Will T. Bullington and one sister, Mrs. Matilda McGonnell, who mourn his loss, and to them we extend our heartfelt sympathy and hope they will look to the Almighty for the consolation to heal their wounded hearts.

The funeral services were held at the M. E. church, Monday afternoon, at 3 p. m., under the auspices of Galena lodge A. F. and A. M. He was also a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
