Death of Joseph Binderin (sic: Binderim)
Joseph Binderin, the well known gardener, who resides just across Shoal Creek, at Porter's ford, died on Sunday Dec. 17, 1893, after an illness of five days duration. He was thirty-nine years, two months and seventeen days old and leaves a wife and six children without the care and protection of husband and father.
Elder W. H. South presided at the funeral services, held at the residence on Monday afternoon, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Galena City Cemetery. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in the count—outside of the towns—quite a number from Galena attending.
Deceased was an old settler and for years has marketed his products about our streets, hence was known to hundreds who will miss his familiar face. He enjoyed the confidence and esteem of his patrons, who extend their sympathy to the bereaved wife and children.
