Athens, AL - Doyle J. Downs, 62, Athens, died Saturday at a Tuscaloosa hospital.
The funeral was today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Doug McCurry officiating. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mable Inez Downs; four daughters, Connie Luverne Gifford of Coldwater, Mich., Evelyn Routh of Somerville, Oneta Adams and Tanya Downs, both of Athens; six brothers, Ted Downs of Tanner, George Downs of Calumet City, Illinois, Talmadge Downs of Decatur, Devaughn Downs of Madison, Lewis A. Downs and W. C. Downs, both of Athens; three sisters, Nella Ostruki of Albertville, Robbie Evans and Vella Rhee Macks, both of Athens; and seven grandchildren.
