Well Known Resident of Mohawk Community Dies Tuesday Morning
Mrs. Clara Leary, age 76 years, the widow of James H Leary, died at her home in Mohawk, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock following several months illness.
Born in Hancock County the daughter of John and Susannah (Eaton) Dobbins, Mrs. Leary lived her entire life in the Mohawk community.
She was a charter member of the Mohawk Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Helen (Jim) Apple of the Eden community; Mrs. Autumn (Bob) Phares of Mohawk; Mrs. Neva (Ralph) Johnson, of Greenfield; seven grandchildren, Kenneth, Eugene, Martha, and Rosalind Phares, Donna Sue Apple, Judith and Janet Johnson; three brothers, Nelson, Andy and Ira Dobbins of Florida; one sister, Mary Cohee of Florida, and other relatives.
Funeral services Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Nazarene church in Mohawk, Rev. Robert Johnson in charge. Burial in Reeves cemetery east of Mohawk.
Announcement from the McCarty Funeral Home, Fortville, states that friends may call at the Leary home in Mohawk after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
