Mr. Jim Walter Bennett, 72, of Rt. 4, Crockett, died Thursday afternoon. Mr. Bennett was a native of Bosque County, but had lived in Houston County most of his life. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Waller Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Leslie L. Grounds officiating. Burial was in the Weches Cemetery.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Fannie Jane Bennett of Crockett; four sons, L. C. and Cecil Bennett, both of Crockett, Clifford Bennett of Ratcliff and Walter Doyle of Orchard; a daughter, Mrs. Edith Dewbre of Denver City; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild.
