Bess Walters Brand, 88, of Muscatine, died Saturday at Muscatine General Hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Steffy Funeral Home, Montezuma. Burial will be in Goldenrod Cemetery, Deep River.
Riley Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Bess Cutler was born in Deep River, where she married Wellington Walters in 1909. He preceded her in death. She married W.A. Brand in 1947 in Rock Island. He also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Brand was a retired practical nurse.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Schmidt, Illinois City; a son, Mern Walters, Bemidji, Minn.; six grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
