Joseph Singleton Lord, 77 years old, former resident of San Bernardino, died Friday at his home in Redondo Beach.
He was born in San Bernardino, the son of an early settler, George Lord, and resided in this vicinity over 50 years.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Julia Lord; one daughter, Eleanor Lord, both of Redondo Beach; four sons, Sylvester and George Lord, both of Lemoore, California and Robert and Hardy Lord, both of Los Angeles; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Niland mortuary at Redondo Beach with interment in Inglewood cemetery.

Joseph S. Lord, of 510 North Francisca avenue, passed away last Friday at the age seventy-five years. Mr. Lord was a native son, his birthplace being San Bernardino. For the last few years he was in business at 514 Pier avenue, Hermosa Beach, where he conducted a mineral exhibit of San Bernardino county's minerals.
Relatives in Redondo Beach surviving are his beloved wife, Julia Lord; a daughter, Eleanor Lord, and four grandchildren, Harvey, Allene, Lorene and Cecil. Two sons, Sylvester and George Lord, live in Lemoore, California, and two other sons, Robert and Hardy, make their homes in Los Angeles. Mrs. Julia Lapham, of Hermosa Beach, is a granddaughter and two other grandchildren are Robert and Eileen.
Reverend Edward Bradner, of the Methodist church, conducted funeral services Tuesday afternoon at Niland's chapel of the flowers. Mrs. F. J. White sang "Rock of Ages" and "Abide With Me." Burial was in Inglewood Park cemetery.
