Lakeland – Richard “Lee” Andrews, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 28, 2021.

Lee was born in Howard, KS on Apr. 6, 1934 to the late Richard and Florence Andrews. He went on to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard as an Aviator, and later retired as a Commander. Following his military service, Lee worked for Shell Oil for many years as a Safety Engineer.

Lee had a spirit of generosity, and enjoyed sharing poetry with others. Most importantly, his family is comforted in knowing Lee’s love for Christ, and that they will one day reunite.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bonnie Sweden; his second child; great grandchildren, Agape and Theodore; and his wife of 61 years, Dottie Andrews. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Lanney) Avis and Martha Andrews; sister, Evelyn (Robert) Sweden; brother, Joe (Linda) Andrews; grandchildren, Graham (Katy) Avis, Benson (Tori) Avis, Abbey Avis and Noah (Katie) Avis; great grandchild, Haddassah “Haddy Cate” Avis.
