Lonnie E. Adams, 87, a Salinas resident for the past 30 years, died in a Salinas hospital Saturday after a long illness.
A retired carpenter, Adams was a native of Oklahoma. He is survived by his widow, Jessie Adams, of the family home at 33-A Curtis St.
Other survivors include the following daughters: Mrs F. M. Scott of Lucerne; Mrs. George Soter of Alameda; Mrs. Louise Little of San Jose; Mrs. Smith Markham of Richardson, Tex.; Mrs. Robert Hudson of Santa Barbara; the following sons: Dutch Adams of Mesa, Ariz.; Dade Adams, also of Mesa, Ariz.; Guy Adams of Chualar; and Eugene and Roberty Adams, both of Salinas.
Also surviving are two stepchildren, Howard Covey of Roseburg, Ore.; and Mrs. Judy Adams of Mesa, Ariz.; 36 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Laurel Baptist Church, of which Adams was a member, with services performed by the Rev. Glen Murphey. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
Friends may call at the Struve and LaPorte Funeral Chapel until 12:30 p.m. tomorrow.
