Dutch D. Adams, 57, a former Salinas resident, died in a Phoenix, Ariz. hospital Thursday following a sudden illness.

A native of Oklahoma, he was a veteran of World War II and had been in the produce business in Salinas and Arizona.

He is survived by his widow, Dorthy Adams of the family home in Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Mae Sallee, of Ceres, Calif.; and a son Eddie Adams of Phoenix. Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Ruby Oliver of DeSoto, Tex.; Mrs. Mildred Sotor of Alameda; Louise Adams of San Jose; Mrs. Alma Hudson, of Santa Barbara; and Mrs. Maxine Markham of Dallas, Tex. Four brothers survive, Robert and Eugene Adams of Salinas, Guy Adams of Medfored, Ore., and Dade Adams of Mesa, Ariz. A stepmother Mrs. Jessie Adams of Salinas, and six grandchildren also survive.

Adams was preceded in death by a brother, George Adams of Salinas, in 1969, and his father Lonnie Adams, of Salinas, in 1971.
