Mr. Stanley Franklin age 60 of Carthage and a longtime resident of the Buffalo Community, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Riverview Regional Medical Center E.R. in Carthage at 9:11 p.m. Sunday evening January 31, 2020 after being found deceased at his First Avenue East home.

Funeral services from the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home were conducted by longtime neighbor and childhood friend Bro. Jeff Burton on Friday afternoon February 5th at 1 p.m. Burial followed in the Franklin family lot at the Gene Butler Cemetery in the Brooks Bend Community.

He was one of twelve children born to the late Lonnie B. Franklin who died at the age of 68 on May 18, 1984 and Cloe Lucille Thompson Franklin who died at the age of 79 on August 8, 2001 and was born Stanley Mike Franklin in the Brooks Bend Community of Jackson County on August 7, 1960.

Seven siblings preceded him in death. They were Linda Franklin who died at the age of one week, Pamela Sue Franklin who died January 30,, 1960 at the age of 4, Kathy Yvonne Moss who died August 9, 2005 at the age of 41, Buford Clyde Franklin who died January 30, 2007 at the age of 55, L. B. Franklin who did November 26, 2013 at the age of 73, Larry "Curly" Franklin who died May 8, 2018 at the age of 70 and Carnell Franklin Climer who died November 23, 2019 at the age of 73.

Mr. Franklin was also preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Tyler Franklin who died January 25, 2005 at the age five years and eight months.

He was a 1978 graduate of Jackson County Central High School.

Mr. Franklin was an employee of Vought Industries in Nashville and also served as President of the Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers #735.

Having grown up in the Brooks Bend Community, Cordell Hull Lake was in the family's front yard and Mr. Franklin had a great love of fishing, either from the lake shore or out on the lake in a boat.

Mr. Franklin was a non-denominational Christian.

Surviving is a daughter, Aelisha Franklin Butler and husband Jesse of Carthage; three sons, Stephen Franklin and wife Beth of South Carthage, Adam Franklin of Carthage, Jeffrey Franklin of the Defeated Creek Community,; three sisters, Janie Franklin Creswell and husband David of Lebanon, Patricia Franklin Montgomery and husband David also of Lebanon, Vickie Franklin Allen and husband Larry of Cookeville, Glen Franklin and wife Pam of Gainesboro; six grandchildren, Madison Butler, Brady Butler, Emma Butler all of Carthage, Dylan Butler of Pleasant Shade, Jacob Butler of Kempville and Carter Franklin of South Carthage.
