Mayor Reeves was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Edna Couch Reeves.
In honor of Mayor Reeves’s years of unselfish dedication to the people of Hokes Bluff, Etowah County and the state the following excerpt from his obituary is provided:
“He was a dedicated and active church member, Church Leader, and Chairman of the Trustee Board of New Bethel FCM Church, Chairman of the New Bethel Cemetery Assoc., CEO of the Reeves Farm, on the Executive Committee of the Gadsden/Etowah Emergency Management Agency, on the Gadsden Etowah Metropolitan Planning Organization (GEMPO), Smeltzer Center Board Member, on the Etowah County Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), served on the Hokes Bluff Planning Commission for 14 years, served as Hokes Bluff City Councilman for 5 years, and Mayor of Hokes Bluff for 6 years.”
