Joshua comes up buying and selling land from 1798-1838. Some of this land bordered on William Norman's property. Norman owned 400 acres by deed to Thomas Orrohood states.
Joshua comes up in the 1820-1840 census records of Hardy County.
His will was wrote 6/1841 and probated 10/5/1842.

The children named in the will were:

Ruth Sears, Polly Hill, Ethlen Jones, Abigail Riggleman, Nancy Nippers, Elizabeth, Hannah, Catherine and Alexander Orrahood.

Deed Bk.24, pg 471; Sept. 25, 1853 these children were named:

Hannah wife of Hiram Hogbin
Ruth wife of John Sears.
Abigail wife of Venus Riggleman.
Catherine wife of James Provy.
Elthen wife of Eli Jones.
Elizabeth 1803- isn't named although she comes up with her mother in the 1850 as a Douglas.
Also Nancy Nippers and Alexander Orrahood isn't named since the will says Alexander received his portion already and Nancy gets a $1.
This 150 acre property was sold to Rev. Snowden Scott.

Joshua comes up in 1833 signing David Reel's petition for a Revolutionary War pension. David lived in Real's Gap area a little over a mile away.

Notice the 1820 census as having his name as Josia Richard. If you look at the original it's Josia Arehood. This last name is spelled soooo many ways. Also there is 12 girls of various ages and 1 boy.
