Johnnie Eugene Hawkins, 83, retired manager for Occidental Chemical Company, died Sunday, January 31, 2021 at his residence in Lynnville.

Born February 13, 1938 in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Finis Hawkins and the late Edna Mae Bull Hawkins. On September 23, 1956, he married Janet Richardson Hawkins who preceded him in death September 20, 2013. Mr. Hawkins was an avid horseman.

Survivors include his children, J. J. (Windie) Hawkins of Culleoka; Sandra (James) Ables of Prospect; Marty (Sonya) Hawkins of Lewisburg; brother, Aaron (Sue) Hawkins of Carthage; grandchildren, Cliff Hawkins, Wayne (Bear) Hawkins, Amanda Hawkins, Stacy Rich, Travis Smith, Andrew Hawkins, Samantha Clark; thirteen great grandchildren; and great family friend and the best care giver ever, Erika “Peanut” Baillargeon.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his children, Mike Hawkins, Sam Hawkins; brothers, Ed Hawkins, James Hawkins; and sister, Settie Burnett

A graveside services will be held Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens.
