Lisa was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Ann Vuksanovich, her uncle Robert Vuksanovich, and her husband Nolan Mitchell.
Lisa graduated from WUHS in 1971 and then got her degree at CSU, Fresno. She worked many years as a paralegal, then change course and worked for Fresno Co. in the department of Social Services until present.
To supplement her income during college, Lisa worked as a cocktail waitress. One of the restaurants, Nicolas, was where she met her future husband Nolan aka "Kalama". They eventually wed and were together until his passing in 2011. During the first part of their marriage, they owned and managed Nicola's restaurant, where they had met.
Lisa enjoyed being a part of the St. Peter's Orthodox Church, and the feeling of family and community it provided her. She was an animal lover, especially of dogs. She was incredibly smart, honest and direct, always there for her close friends and family, quick witted, and had an infectious laugh. And she could never tire of shopping for clothing and accessories.
Lisa is survived by her aunt Desanka "Daisy" Vuksanovich and her sister Lori Vuksanovich.
There will be a funeral service this coming Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021 at Stephens and Bean Chapel at 11 a.m., followed by a private family committal service at Belmont Memorial Park.
