Julia (Judy) Morgan, 79, a resident of Birchwood went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 25, 2021 at a local healthcare facility with her children at her side. She was a lifelong resident of Hamilton County and a member of New Liberty Baptist Church where she worked in children’s ministry and sang in the choir. She loved to garden and shop, but most of all spend time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joe Morgan, Jr.; parents, Daniel Franklin Phillips and Julia Thomas Phillips; brothers, Daniel Phillips and David Phillips.

Survivors include her four children, George Morgan and wife, Debbie of Ooltewah, Darrel Morgan and wife, Linda of Birchwood, Greg Morgan and wife, Sha’Ree of Cleveland, and Angie Shelton and husband, Danny of Chattanooga; six grandchildren, Ashley Morgan, Taylor Morgan, Troy Morgan, Hunter Morgan, Sydney Morgan and Grayson Shelton; five great grandchildren; and sister, Josephine Chastain of Cleveland.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Dr. James Hutchings officiating. Taylor Morgan, Troy Morgan, Hunter Morgan, Jason Nicholas, Hunter Henon, and Cason Still will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Bridge at Ooltewah, 5901 Snow Hill Rd., Ooltewah, TN 37363, or Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Dr. Chattanooga, TN 37416
