Norbert Edward Kolb, 79, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 24, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 1, 1941 in Jefferson City, a son of the late Joseph (Sr.) and Lucy (Thessen) Kolb. Norb was united in marriage on May 1, 1965 to Shirley Kliegel.

Norb was a graduate of Fatima High School. For 33 years he was co-owner of Kolb & Lueckenotte Construction. Prior to owning his own business, he worked for Marcellus Markway Construction. Norb was an active member of the Lions Club for 55 years. He was also active in the Knights of Columbus for 38 years and a faithful member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Norb enjoyed fishing, playing bocce, cards and socializing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and eating sweets.

He is survived by his children: Kelley Bax (Kent), Mark Kolb (Donna), Greg Kolb (Diane) and Kristy Gump (J.); grandchildren: Adam Bax (Claire), Logan Bax, Ashley Green (Chris), Lindsey Kolb, Emily Kolb, Chloe Kolb, Justin Kolb, Kendall Duncan (Derek), Rylee Kolb, Jaden Kolb, Austin Gump, Brandan Gump (Brittney) and Dawson Gump; great grandchildren: Karsyn Duncan, Roman Duncan, Trenton Green and Louie; brother, Stanley Kolb (Mary); sister-in-law, Ruth Kolb; brothers-in-law, Tommy and Billy Kliegel; and many other family and friends.

Norb was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Kolb: parents: his mother- and father-in-law: brothers, Joseph Kolb Jr., Louis Kolb; sisters, Lucille Rackers, Agnes Volmert; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Kolb, Leo Rackers, Richard Volmert, Bobby Kliegel, Larry Kliegel, Pat Kliegel: and grandson, Corey Bax.

Friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Wardsville Lions Club, 3505 Route M, Jefferson City, Missouri 65101 with a prayer service beginning at 2:15 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Fr. Ignazio C. Medina officiating. Interment will immediately follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Stanislaus Foundation or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
