Funeral services for Mrs. Sylvia Senette will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Krotz Springs. Interment will take place in Krotz Springs, Louisiana. The Rev. Mark Ledoux, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the services.
Mrs. Senette, 79, who passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 7, 2007, was surrounded by her family.
Gift bearers will be Anne Marie LaHaye and Lynn Kimble and the readings for the Mass will be provided by Lea Smith and Blythe Godwin.
Marcus McCoullgh, organist and soloist will sing for the services; You Are Near, On Eagles Wings, Panis Angelicus, Taste and See and Ave Maria. Pallbearers will be Travis Smith, Adrian Simmons, Brandon Ardoin, Seth Woodruff, Eddie and Christian Godwin. Honorary pallbearer will be L.G. Naquin
She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Krotz Springs Quilting Guild, a talented seamstress and friend to all who know her. She will be sadly missed. Sylvia's love was her family.
A special thanks to the Medical Staff of Opelousas General Health System and St. Landry Extended Care Hospital, who treated Sylvia with medical care and compassion.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Matthew M. Saenette, a son; Brent and his wife Lynn Senette of Soldotna, Alaska, a daughter; Gwyn Smith and her husband Stephen Smith of Opelousas, her Granddaughters; Allison Senette of Chicago, Illinois, Jennifer, Lauren and Karen Senette of Soldotna, Alaska, Stephanie Woodruff and her husband Seth of Lafayette and Grandson; Travis Smith and his wife Lea of Lafayette, her sisters; Myrtle Meche, Norma Evans of Krotz Springs and Gayle Simmons of Port Barre and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother; Olivia Bryant Meche, father; Raoul Meche, siblings; Jeanette Norris, Clovis Meche and Patricia LaHaye.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed Friday, March 9, 2007 at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Krotz Springs from 4:00PM to 9:00PM and will continue on Saturday March 10, 2007 from 8:00AM until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30PM Friday.
