Deacon Herman Jackson was born on September 27, 1948 in Montgomery, AL and passed away on January 9, 2021 in Oxnard, CA.
Herman attended elementary school in Oxnard and Graduated from Hueneme High School in 1968. In 1975 he graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. Herman worked on the Naval Base as an Electronic Engineer for 27 years.
Herman was a lifelong member and Head Deacon of New Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Oxnard, CA.
In August of 1975 Herman met the love of his life, Christina Lazos. The two were married on November 27, 1976.
Herman is survived by his wife Christina Jackson of Oxnard, CA, two brothers, five sisters and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Due to COVID-19, visitation is limited capacity from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 with a Celebration of Life Ceremony to begin at 5:30pm at the Garcia Mortuary Chapel, 629 South A Street in Oxnard. If attending, please observe current COVID-19 regulations - masks must be worn, and social distancing guidelines will be observed.
A graveside service will begin at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road in Ventura.
