On January 18, 2021, Rita M. (Garcia) Sedillo passed away peacefully in her home, with the love of her Life, Nick Sedillo, of 58 years of marriage by her side. She was 82 years old, born in Tajique, New Mexico, to parents Emilia (Sanchez) and Frank Garcia.
Rita was very well loved and known in her small town of Estancia, NM. She always provided support and love not just for her family but anyone that came to know her. She greeted everyone with a beautiful smile and a joyful spirit whether it was at the grocery store or any sports game which she truly loved.
Rita was a member of Estancia Valley Catholic Parish for 52 years, known for her faith and trust in the Lord, everyone knew to call her for prayer for she was a true Prayer Warrior.
Rita and husband, Nick, worked to provide a loving home for their daughter, Rosalind Esquibel (husband, Michael) and their son, Nick Sedillo Jr. (wife, Tracy).
She would proudly boast of all her grandchildren: Jeff Barela and (wife, Victoria), Jennifer Kottenstette and (husband, Ricky), Timothy Sedillo and (wife Kirstie), Daniel Sedillo, Gabriel Sedillo and (wife, Aubriana); great grandchildren: Anthony and (girlfriend, Alexis) Caden Easley, Damien Barela, and Joey Kottenstette; and great-great grandson, Brody Barela. Her greatest Love was her family.
Rita is preceded in death by: her father, Frank Garcia; mother, Emilia Garcia; her sister, "Amy" Anaya, and her brothers: Epiminio, Richard, Julian, Jerry, and Elijio Garcia.
While Rita’s family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember the cherished wife, mother, "nana", sister and auntie in a way that honors the beautiful woman she was. Her legacy of love and kindness, generosity will always be remembered, and treasured in their hearts.
