Charlie Foster, 81 of Chattanooga, TN went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 at his home.

Charlie was born and raised in the Chattanooga area and attended Lakeview High School. He earned his Associates degree in Business Administration from the University of Alabama. Charlie proudly served his country in the US Army in Vietnam, earning the expert rifle and sharpshooter commendations. He worked for Citizens Bank and Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union for many years before becoming a plumber. Charlie was a skilled plumber and loved to work with his hands. He enjoyed bowling, playing computer games and chatting with his friends on the computer. Charlie was a member of Anchor of Hope Baptist Church and dearly loved his church family. He was also a talented singer in the church choir and was often asked to sing “Farther Along” and “How Great Thou Art.”

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Foster; two brothers, Bob and Bill Foster; one sister, Ruth Anderson; and infant son, Chuck Foster.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Daryl Foster; children: Debbie (Butch) Rambo, Elizabeth Oliver, Barbie (Ed) Johnson, and Pamela (Lee) Roop; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 3pm in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Bryce Williams officiating.

Interment will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 11am in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Hearth Hospice, their loving neighbors and devoted church family for their kind and compassionate care of Charlie.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1pm until the funeral hour in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
